How the transfer process works
- Complete the transfer assessment (current dose, date of last injection, recent weight and side effects).
- Clinical review to confirm suitability and the correct pathway (Maintenance, Health, or Active if restart or dose change needed).
- If approved, we send next steps and the appropriate payment link.
- Medication supplied separately by our partner pharmacy.
Key rules
- Ongoing prescribing requires monitoring and check-ins.
- No check-in = no prescription decision.
- Health is continuation only. No dose changes on Health.
- Restart rules apply if injections have been missed — time since last injection determines the safe restart dose.
- Minimum engagement: check-in at least every 12 weeks to remain on the continuation pathway.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you take me on if my BMI is now below NICE thresholds?
Potentially yes. We provide a clinician-led maintenance and continuation pathway for patients who have achieved weight loss and want structured ongoing support, even if BMI has changed. Suitability is confirmed at assessment.
Do you supply medication?
Medication is supplied and paid separately to our partner pharmacy. Our fees cover monitoring, check-ins and clinical governance.
What information do you need from me?
Current medication and dose, date of last injection, recent weight and waist measurement, any side effects, and brief medical history.
Will I have to restart at a lower dose if I've had a break?
Possibly. Restart rules are based on the time since your last injection. More than 21 days since last injection typically requires restarting at 2.5mg. We will advise the safest approach at assessment.
Can I request dose increases on the Health plan?
No. Health is continuation only. Any dose change requires moving to the Active pathway (Essentials or Plus) under clinical monitoring.
What if my current provider is stopping their service?
We can assess you for transfer. You will need your current dose, last injection date and brief medical history. Complete the transfer assessment and we will confirm the appropriate pathway.
What makes Medica different from my current online provider?
Medica is a CQC-registered practice with a GP and specialist diabetes nurse. Every prescribing decision is clinically governed, and we enforce the monitoring standards that protect your safety long-term.
Ready to transfer or continue with proper clinical support?
Complete the short transfer assessment. We review within 2–3 working days and confirm the most appropriate pathway and pricing for your situation. No payment until you are approved.
